Coconut fertiliser programme

Coconut

Sixty years of production from sandy coastal soil that holds almost nothing. Retention is the whole game.

The crop

What coconut asks of your soil.

Coconut is a long-term crop grown very often on the worst soil available — sandy, coastal, low in organic matter and with almost no capacity to hold nutrients between rainfall events.

Potassium demand is high and continuous, and chloride plays an unusually important role for this crop. On sandy ground, the limiting factor is rarely how much you apply; it is how much stays in the root zone long enough to be used.

🇲🇾 Ringkasan Bahasa Melayu

The challenges

Three things that cost Kelapa growers yield.

01

Very low retention

Sandy soils have minimal cation exchange capacity. Applied nutrient can pass below the root zone within a few heavy rainfall events.

02

Low organic matter

Coastal soils typically start low in organic matter and stay that way without deliberate input, leaving little biological activity to cycle nutrients.

03

Long neglect cycles

Because coconut keeps bearing under poor management, decline is slow and easy to miss until yield per palm has fallen substantially.

The programme

What we recommend for Kelapa.

Built to work alongside your existing fertiliser programme, not replace it outright.

NEXGROW
Foundation

Directly targets the core problem: over 50% organic matter and more than 20% humic and fulvic acid raise the soil’s ability to hold nutrients, while phosphate-solubilising bacteria improve phosphorus availability.

Questions

Kelapa growers often ask.

Which fertiliser is best for coconut in Malaysia?+
For coconut (Kelapa), we recommend NEXGROW bio-organic fertiliser alongside your existing programme. It carries over 50% organic matter, more than 20% humic and fulvic acid, and phosphate-solubilising bacteria above 10⁷ CFU per gram — processed aerobically in adherence to Malaysian Standard MS 1517:2012. It is designed to improve the efficiency of the nutrients you already apply rather than replace balanced nutrition.
How often should NEXGROW be applied to coconut?+
The published NEXGROW Bio-Organic guidance is: Planting hole: 1 kg / planting hole; 1 year: 1 kg / palm; 2 years: 2 kg / palm; 3 years: 3 kg / palm; 4 years: 4 kg / palm; 5 years and above: 5 kg / palm. The source does not give an additional application schedule for other stages. Ask our agronomy team about your soil and crop before adding applications.
Can I use it with my existing fertiliser programme?+
Yes. NEXGROW is designed to integrate with existing practices. Most growers begin with a trial block, keeping their normal programme running and adding NEXGROW alongside it, then compare results over a season before adjusting the balance.
