Aerobic compostingPengkomposan aerobik
Decomposition of organic material with oxygen present. It runs hotter and more completely than anaerobic decomposition, which matters for pathogen and weed-seed reduction and for producing a stable, non-phytotoxic finished material. Agros Empire processes aerobically in adherence to MS 1517:2012.
Bio-organic fertiliserBaja bio-organik
A fertiliser built on organic matter that also carries living beneficial microorganisms. It differs from plain compost by the deliberate microbial content, and from chemical fertiliser by feeding soil biology rather than only the plant.
C:N ratioNisbah C:N
The ratio of carbon to nitrogen in organic material. It indicates whether material is properly composted — a high ratio means immature material that can temporarily immobilise soil nitrogen instead of supplying it. NEXGROW is specified below 13:1.
Cation exchange capacity (CEC)Kapasiti pertukaran kation
A soil’s ability to hold positively charged nutrients — calcium, magnesium, potassium, ammonium — against being washed away. Low CEC, typical of sandy soils, means nutrients leach quickly regardless of how much you apply.
CFU per gramCFU setiap gram
Colony-forming units per gram: the count of viable microorganisms in a product. NEXGROW specifies above 1.0×10⁷ CFU/g, which is a measure of how much living biology you are actually buying.
Chelating agentAgen pengikat
A compound that binds a nutrient ion and keeps it available to the plant rather than locked into an insoluble form. Humic and fulvic acids act as chelating agents, which is a large part of why they improve nutrient uptake.
Empty fruit bunch (EFB)Tandan kosong
The fibrous residue left after oil palm fruit is stripped for milling. It is a major Malaysian organic waste stream and a common composting material.
Fermented chicken dung (FCD)Najis ayam terferment
Poultry manure that has been fermented before composting. It is nutrient-dense and a common composting material.
Foliar analysisAnalisis daun
Laboratory analysis of leaf tissue to determine what the plant is actually taking up. Read alongside soil analysis, it distinguishes a nutrient that is absent from one that is present but unavailable.
Fulvic acidAsid fulvik
The smaller, more mobile fraction of humic substances. Because it can pass through cell membranes it acts as a natural chelator, carrying nutrients into root tissue.
Fusarium oxysporumFusarium oxysporum
A soil-borne fungal pathogen that enters through the roots and colonises the vascular system, blocking water movement so the plant wilts from within. Its resting spores survive in soil for years. There is no cure once a plant is infected, which makes prevention the whole strategy.
Gibberellic acid (GA)Asid gibberelik
A plant growth hormone that promotes cell elongation and vegetative growth. NEXGROW delivers GA alongside IAA through biological interaction in the product.
Humic acidAsid humik
The larger fraction of humic substances. It binds soil particles into stable aggregates, improving porosity, water infiltration and root penetration — structural work rather than direct nutrition.
Indole acetic acid (IAA)Asid indol asetik
The principal natural auxin, a plant hormone that drives root initiation and shoot elongation. One of the two growth-promoting substances NEXGROW delivers.
Integrated Pest Management (IPM)Pengurusan Perosak Bersepadu
Combining cultural practice, biological control and targeted chemical use only where needed, so pest pressure is managed through several mechanisms at once. Reduces total chemical load and slows resistance.
Integrated Plant Nutrient ManagementPengurusan Nutrien Tumbuhan Bersepadu
Managing organic and mineral nutrient sources together as one system, so soil fertility is built rather than drawn down. One of Agros Empire’s agro-technical services.
LeachingLarut resap
Movement of soluble nutrients down through the soil profile below the root zone by percolating water. Under Malaysian rainfall it is one of the largest hidden costs in a fertiliser budget.
MS 1517:2012MS 1517:2012
The Malaysian Standard for organic fertiliser, setting requirements for organic matter, moisture, pH, C:N ratio, nutrient content and limits on heavy metals and pathogens. Agros Empire processes aerobically in adherence to it.
Organic matterBahan organik
The carbon-based fraction of soil derived from decomposed plant and animal material. It governs structure, water holding, nutrient retention and biological activity. NEXGROW is over 50% organic matter by weight.
Phosphate-solubilising bacteriaBakteria pelarut fosfat
Bacteria that secrete organic acids and enzymes which break iron- and aluminium-phosphate bonds, converting bound phosphorus into a form roots can absorb. The core biology in NEXGROW.
Rhizoctonia solaniRhizoctonia solani
A soil-borne fungal pathogen attacking roots and stem bases, damaging in rice among other crops and favoured by warm waterlogged conditions.
SclerotiniaSclerotinia
A genus of soil-borne fungal pathogens producing hard resting bodies that persist in soil between crops.
Sclerotium rolfsiiSclerotium rolfsii
A soil-borne fungus causing southern blight, attacking the stem at soil level across a wide host range in warm, wet conditions.
Soil pHpH tanah
A measure of soil acidity or alkalinity that determines whether nutrients are chemically available to roots. Below about pH 5.5 phosphorus locks up and aluminium becomes soluble enough to damage root tips.
Suppressive soilTanah penekan penyakit
Soil whose biological activity and structure actively limit pathogen establishment. Building it is a documented line of defence in its own right, achieved over seasons rather than sprayed on.
Tolling / contract manufacturingPengilangan kontrak
Producing a formulation on behalf of another brand using a manufacturer’s facility and process.
