Anyone can print "organic" on a fertiliser bag. Without a standard and a specification sheet behind it, the claim carries no verifiable meaning. In Malaysia, MS 1517:2012 is the standard that defines what an organic fertiliser must actually contain and comply with.
It sets requirements across the properties that determine whether a product will genuinely perform as an organic fertiliser: minimum organic matter content, maximum moisture, acceptable pH range, carbon-to-nitrogen ratio, nutrient content, and safety limits on heavy metals and pathogens.
Organic matter content tells you how much of the bag is actually doing structural and biological work. The C:N ratio indicates whether the material is properly composted — poorly composted material can temporarily rob nitrogen from your crop rather than supply it. Moisture content affects how much you are paying for water. Seed germination rate is a practical indicator that the product is mature and not phytotoxic.
NEXGROW is processed in line with MS 1517:2012. Its product specification states over 50% organic matter, moisture below 25%, pH between 7 and 9, a C:N ratio under 13:1, more than 12% combined N, P₂O₅, K₂O, Mg and Ca, over 20% humic and fulvic acid, seed germination above 90%, and live microorganisms above 1.0×10⁷ CFU per gram.
Ask for the specification sheet, not the brochure. If a supplier cannot state organic matter percentage, moisture, C:N ratio and microbial count, there is no basis for comparison — and price per bag tells you nothing about value per hectare.
Soil Testing & Lab Analysis — texture, pH, nutrients and organic matter, with a written programme.
NEXGROW brings phosphate-solubilising bacteria, humic & fulvic acids and natural growth hormones into one bio-organic fertiliser, processed in line with MS 1517:2012.
