Bio-organic vs chemical NPK.

Chemical NPK feeds the plant. Bio-organic feeds the soil that feeds the plant. Both statements are true, and neither on its own is a programme.

Chemical NPK delivers a precise, measurable, fast-acting dose of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. For correcting a known deficiency inside one season, it is difficult to beat and there is no reason to pretend otherwise.

What it does not do is add organic matter, improve soil structure or support soil biology. Used alone across many seasons, it tends to leave soil progressively more dependent on inputs — organic matter declines, buffering capacity falls, and a larger share of each application is lost to leaching.

Bio-organic works the slower, compounding side: organic matter, humic and fulvic acids, and living microbes that rebuild the soil’s own capacity to hold and cycle nutrients. The return shows up as better efficiency from the whole programme rather than as a single-season response.

The verdict

Very few operations need to choose one exclusively. The lowest-risk path is a trial block: keep the existing programme running, add a bio-organic input alongside it, and compare over a season before shifting the balance. That way the decision rests on your own result rather than anyone’s marketing.

Settle it on your land

Run a trial block.

The only comparison that binds is the one from your own soil. We will design a trial against a control block and review the result with you.

  • Soil Testing & Lab Analysis first, so the baseline is real
  • Trial and control blocks so the comparison is honest
  • No obligation, and no yield claims from us up front

Questions

Common questions.

Which is better overall?+
Very few operations need to choose one exclusively. The lowest-risk path is a trial block: keep the existing programme running, add a bio-organic input alongside it, and compare over a season before shifting the balance. That way the decision rests on your own result rather than anyone’s marketing.
Can I use both together?+
Yes, and that is the normal approach. NEXGROW is designed to work alongside a conventional programme rather than replace it outright. Most growers substitute part of their existing programme and adjust the balance as soil organic matter and biological activity recover.
How do I work out the cost for my own land?+
Use our cost-per-hectare calculator. It takes your current rate and price from your own invoice, plus a bio-organic quote, and works out both sides per hectare and per season. It also lets you model partial substitution rather than an all-or-nothing switch.
