Around Raub, Bentong and Lipis, durian is grown on sloping, well-drained ground where heavy afternoon rain can wash surface-applied fertiliser downhill. Placement, timing and soil organic matter matter as much as the product.
Pahang’s durian country around Raub, Bentong and Sungai Ruan is undulating to steep, with mostly well-drained soils. On slopes, fertiliser left on the surface is exposed to heavy rain and runoff, so placement along the drip line and ground cover matter.
NEXGROW is a bio-organic fertiliser, processed in line with MS 1517:2012, that adds organic matter and phosphate-solubilising bacteria. The NEXGROW booklet dose for durian runs from 250 g per planting hole to 3 kg per tree for trees aged five years and above, applied after harvest.

The booklet places the mature-tree NEXGROW round after harvest. The rest of the programme is set after a soil test.
Apply where the feeder roots are and keep ground cover on slopes to limit runoff.
250 g per planting hole; 500 g, 750 g, 1 kg and 2 kg per tree in years 1–4; 3 kg per tree from year 5, after harvest.
Organic matter supports moisture retention through dry flowering periods.
Phytophthora is a known risk in wet periods. We do not claim that any of our products control it — manage drainage, hygiene and planting material, and consult your agronomist.
